Curtin University hosted an important and interesting public dialogue entitled ““What Would Jesus and Buddha Say to Each Other?”. The Tibetan Buddhist Society’s new temple was officially opened on Saturday 6th June 2009. The opening was attended by the leader of the opposition Mr Eric Ripper and other dignitaries.
On the Eve of Vesak Day 2009, Radio Fremantle broadcast a live 30 minute interview featuring Vesak Day observations in Perth. The radio presenter was Derek Cusick and the BCWA were represented by Jake and Kate.
The first BCWA meeting with Hon Minister John Castrilli focussed on visa issues for monks. The BCWA were represented by president Mr Stewart Jarvis, Ajahn Brahm and two other delgates.
