Celebrating the Life of Bunthan Chan

Bunthan served with quiet dedication as a committee member of the Buddhist Council of Western Australia (BCWA), representing the Cambodian Buddhist Centre of Western Australia. For many years, he also fulfilled the role of Treasurer, offering his service faithfully.
Bunthan was a gentle and reserved person, yet his presence was steady and reassuring. He met life with tolerance and patience, responding to circumstances with calm reflection rather than haste. His actions and decisions were consistently guided by the wisdom of the Buddha Dhamma, expressed not through words alone, but through conduct.
He passed away peacefully on 14th February 2026.
He will be deeply missed by both past and present members of the BCWA committee. His contribution, quiet yet enduring, remains woven into the shared life of the Council, like a lamp that continues to give light long after it has been passed on.
