President’s Report 2026 – Natasha Tang

BCWA President’s Address

Annual General Meeting 2026

Venerables, respected representatives of member organisations, fellow committee members and friends,

Good evening, everyone.

As we reflect on another successful year, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our committee members for their dedication, commitment and continued support.

One of our highlights was the successful Vesak Celebration at Parliament House in June 2026 and the interviews with the team from Buddhism Australia, with me represented BCWA, Boon and Sandra represented BSWA and Tholla represented CBSWA. The project took 3 years to complete and it was launched in late September 2026. The research project is a collaboration between Nan Tien Institute, Deakin University, Western Sydney University and Charles Darwin University. The project is funded by the Hsing Yun Education Foundation Australia.

Throughout the year, our committee members have also actively participated in numerous Buddhist, multicultural and interfaith events, strengthening our relationships with Buddhist organisations, government agencies and the wider community.

I sincerely thank everyone who has contributed their time and effort in representing BCWA and supporting our shared mission.

On a personal note, I will be stepping down as President this year, after having had the great honour and privilege of serving in this respected role for the past three years.

My heartfelt thanks to all past and present committee members who have walked this meaningful journey with me. Your friendship, encouragement and support have made these three years truly rewarding.

I look forward to welcoming our incoming President and would be honoured to continue serving as a committee member in the coming year.

While leadership may change, our shared commitment to promoting unity, compassion and harmony remains unchanged.

Thank you once again for your trust and support.

May BCWA continue to flourish and benefit the Buddhist community and wider society.

Thank you, and may you all be well, happy and peaceful.
