Vesak Parliamentary Reception
The Buddhist Council of WA (BCWA) would like to thank Dr Mike Nahan MLA, Member for Riverton and his party colleagues for organizing a private reception at Parliament House on the occasion of Vesak Day on Tuesday 17th of May 2011.
This was the first time in WA that the Buddhist community was acknowledged in this way. Buddhist representatives got the opportunity to meet and speak with the WA premier Mr Colin Barnett, the Minister of Multicultural Interests Hon John Castrilli MLA and Members of Parliament.
The meeting was addressed with speeches by Dr Nahan and Ajahn Brahm who spoke on behalf of the BCWA at the occasion.
